Tier List Methodology: What Makes a Top Base Worker?
Unlike combat tier lists that prioritize raw attack power and elemental defense, an authoritative Palworld base worker tier list is governed by production throughput, continuous uptime, and pathing reliability. A level 50 Legendary Pal with high combat stats can still be an inefficient base worker if it has low work suitability levels, excessive hunger rates, or a colossal physical model that gets stuck on stairs.
Work Suitability Levels (Level 1 vs Level 4/5)
Work speed does not scale linearly in Palworldβit scales exponentially. A Level 1 Handiwork Pal crafts items at 100 work points per second, whereas a Level 4 specialist operates at 1,000 work points per second. One Level 4 worker finishes tasks ten times faster than a Level 1 worker. Furthermore, max condensing a Pal to 4-Stars via the Pal Essence Condenser adds an additional +1 to all suitabilities, unlocking astronomical Level 5 crafting speeds (3,000+ points/s).
Nocturnal Advantage: 24/7 Base Production
Standard diurnal Pals sleep every in-game night from 22:00 to 06:00, halting production for roughly 33% of every day cycle. Pals with natural Dark element typing (such as Astegon and Katress) or those bred with the Nocturnal passive skill never sleep, maintaining 100% production uptime around the clock.
Hunger Economy & Sanity (SAN) Preservation
Base workers constantly consume food to replenish hunger points and sanity (SAN). Feeding base workers low-grade raw Red Berries causes frequent feeding trips and rapid sanity degradation, eventually resulting in depression, fractures, or slacking off. High-tier bases feed cooked meals like Salad (+30% Work Speed boost and SAN restoration) or Pizza to keep production lines running at peak velocity.
